MetaCorps are a brand-new social and financial primitive coming soon to Nifty Island, empowering players to unite, capture value, and amplify their influence across the game world. Nifty has always revolved around on-chain communities. Now players will be able to create their own, capture greater value, and feed into the ecosystem around ISLAND token in the process.
When a MetaCorp is founded, a unique ERC-20 MetaToken is launched with its own ISLAND-based liquidity pool. Other players and traders can purchase that MetaToken to enjoy in-game benefits and prospect on the MetaCorp’s potential success. MetaTokens are traded with ISLAND token, meaning that traders and other participants who want access to the Nifty Island economy must acquire it.
So what is a MetaCorp?
It's a community-driven entity within Nifty Island, leveraging its own ERC-20 token. Players can get involved by founding a MetaCorp or joining one as a contributor. They can also become a member of any number of different MetaCorps by holding their MetaToken. Contributors are directly aligning themselves with a single MetaCorp's success, while members can expect passive boosts to their gameplay, based on token holdings from multiple MetaCorps. The most active and vocal MetaCorps have the potential to grow in relevance beyond Nifty itself, becoming valuable in their own right as highly active on-chain communities.
When a player chooses to align with a MetaCorp and become a contributor, their in-game actions can add value to the token over time. A distinct new form of reward, based on the performance of active islands selected by the MetaCorp, will be used to buy and burn MetaCorp tokens. This will reduce its supply, making every remaining token more precious. MetaCorp contributors reap a portion of the trading fees generated by the token.
At the beginning we will have the following roles in the MetaCorp ecosystem, working alongside to grow the ever-changing economy around player-driven markets:
Contributors
They are the driving force behind every successful MetaCorp. After creating a MetaCorp, choosing its name and symbol, as well as inviting fellow contributors to join its ranks, their in-game success will directly fuel the performance of the MetaCorp token. Between island creators, content creators, promoters, and hosts, the MetaCorp can make use of all talents to attract attention to their active islands.
MetaCorp contributors earn based on the trading fees generated by their MetaToken. The more vocal and active the MetaCorp, the more potential volume a MetaToken may do, and the greater the rewards for its Contributors.
Players can only be an active contributor of a single MetaCorp, so they have to choose wisely, as the right one will allow them to turn in-game performance into unique monetary rewards. Using the power of their MetaCorp to spread strategic benefits across all of its islands, they will see their influence ripple across the entire Nifty Island ecosystem and beyond.
Traders
For those seeking opportunity and a way of engaging with Nifty asynchronously, MetaCorps present a unique and dynamic new environment. With the tokens deployed in an open crypto-native market, savvy traders can purchase MetaTokens and trade on the success of various MetaCorps. The deflationary nature of all MetaCorp tokens, their unique tie-in to contributors' performance, as well as the memetic nature of the tokens, allow for outsized rewards for a well-versed trader.
Members
Everyday adventurers and island explorers also have good reason to engage with MetaCorps. By holding the native token of a MetaCorp, they become members, getting access to the MetaCorp's buffs while playing, elevating their in-game power in various game systems. A player can be a member in many MetaCorps.
Progression
But that’s just the start. Each MetaCorp features a dynamic progression system tied to bonding ISLAND or accruing enough trading fees on its MetaToken. As a MetaCorp levels up, it unlocks increasingly potent perks and can even unlock additional capabilities both in and beyond the game world by funding divisions. Divisions are unique extensions that revolve around thematic upgrades like crafting, AI, or other tools.
